Dunja's thirst to discover new places has brought her from her home country Germany to Australia, where she realised that she could turn her passion into a profession. Joining the travel industry was an amazing platform to chip away on that (ever growing) list of places to see in the world.
Whilst no stranger to your getaway short trips to places like the Cook Islands in order to recharge batteries, it's the unusual and out of the ordinary that makes her tick and feel alive. Trekking in Nepal, adventuring on an overland truck from Nairobi to Jo' burgh and exploring the fabled Galapagos Islands on a small expedition ship are a few of the things that made her heart beat to the travelling drum's rhythm.
Dunja has sailed down the Nile on a traditional Dahabiya, rode camels into the Thar Desert, bargained for Persian rugs in Moroccan markets and marvelled at the wonders of Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca in South America.
One of her favourite destinations (if it is even possible to pick such a thing) probably has to be Cuba and its rich traditional heritage. To uncover the island's revolutionary history, dancing in the "casa de musicas" to Caribbean beats and trekking to the summit of Pico Turquino - Cuba's highest peak - ensured that this trip got securely stored away in Dunja's memory bank.

Alex is a rare breed, being born and raised in Alice Springs. Whilst many people consider Alice Springs to be in the middle of nowhere, we consider it to be in the middle of EVERYWHERE.
Having a father owning a travel agency means that travel is in her blood. It also meant her family holidays were a mixture of domestic and international destinations such as the Gold Coast, Indonesia, the USA, Malaysia, Japan and Thailand, just to name a few..
After completing high school, she jumped on a plane to the UK and began exploring on her own. After spending time studying in Southern France, she returned to Australia to complete her tertiary education in International Relations. Staying put didn't last long so as soon as she was finished, she jumped on a plane and ended up in Montreal for 11 months. From there, she returned to Paris where she worked as a travel professional for a number of years. Family reasons saw her return to her home town of Alice Springs a little over 5 years ago and when an opportunity to join the team at Alice Travel & Cruise, Alex jumped at the chance and has never looked back.
Alex has travelled extensively throughout Europe both on her own, with her family and a variety of tour companies including Top Deck, Contiki and Busabout. From a gondala ride in Venice to running with the bulls in Pamplona, there are not many places in Europe that she hasn't visited. She has also travelled to North America a couple of times where she spent her days lazing around and exploring Honolulu in Hawaii, experiencing the awesomeness of Disneyland and Universal studios and sampling the excitement of Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon as well as aweing at the grandeur of Kennedy Space Station at Cape Canaveral.
Whilst Alex likes to get off the beaten track, she also likes her 5-star style of travel and was fortunate enough to travel from Amsterdam to Budapest on an APT river cruise which far exceeded all her expectations. She often still asks for her butler. She has also been spoilt on her trip to South Africa, Zimbabwe & Zambia last year, where she was lucky enough to journey on the renowned Blue Train, see the Big Five and come face to face with a hippopotamus.
This year, Alex ventured to India with Intrepid, a destination that has always been high on her bucket list since her visit to Sri Lanka. The country left her without words, no easy feat if you know our Alex. Whether it was visiting the Taj Mahal dressed in a traditional Saree to receiving a traditional Hindu blessing in Pushkar, the country captured her heart and is most certainly somewhere she will be heading back to.
Her next trip sees her off to explore the places left to visit in Europe such as Bosnia, Serbia, Montengero and Dracula's castle in Transylvania.
Countries visited include: France, Indonesia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Borneo and Algeria.
Mike grew up in New Jersey, about an hour from New York City. His family travelled a lot when he was younger but as he is from a big family this consisted mostly of road trips. His first plane ride was in 1963 at the age of 7 years when the family was treated to a visit to Disneyland. He still remembers this vividly.
Mike was in the music business prior to joining the travel industry and spent many a trip travelling with various musicians as an agent and he still has a big passion for the arts and culture and enjoys passing on those hidden gems within cities that he knows. He has explored all but 2 of the continental US states, most of the Canadian provinces from Ontario eastward and parts of Mexico and the US Virgin Islands so Mike really is our in-house North America expert. He has travelled extensively through Western Europe for business and pleasure.
Last year Mike experienced the joys of Top End travel company 'Scenic Tours' when he joined one of their tours to South Africa and Botswana staying in luxury lodges and permanent safari camps whilst sipping a sundowner and marvelling at the vast African skies and wildlife.
Mike has also ventured over to New Zealand a number of times and had a taste of what the delightful land of India can offer, spending time down in the south exploring the backwaters of Kerala. Mike is planning a princess cruise this year through Alaska's inside passage.
Countries Visited include: Ireland, England, Scotland, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Botswana, USA, Mexico, Canada, Virgin Islands
